It's now on Britbox. That last episode where he comes back to a very changed Manchester to give his daughter away at her wedding was just so much garbage. Lot's of anti-Americanism. The idiot who said she didn't know anyone who supported Bush at the height of the war (nonsense) or were born-again Christians just showed she didn't get out of the house much, or was just a limousine liberal. It was educational about how bad the war in Northern Ireland was, but while the writer was slinging anti-American lies, Americans quite frankly -- other than the idiots donating money to keep it going, just like they donate money to the Palestinians to keep that undeclared war going -- thought the English should just pull out and let the Irish settle things on their own. We couldn't see what was there that was worth all the bloodshed.
See how easy it is to make judgments from across the pond? That last episode certainly did make me glad it was over.
And does no one use forensic evidence in England, or was that more bad writing? Fingerprints, anyone? Sheesh!
