Basement
I know we never saw one; but do you guys think the Matthews house had a basement? A house that size must have one, right?

There's no indication that they do. There's apparently no staircase inside leading to one, nor does there appear to be an external bulkhead for one. They seem to keep their spare junk in the garage, so I don't think they have a basement.
