Did Sandy Pay Jean and Lionel Rent?

Or maybe Jean just knocked a bob or two off her wages. She had a pretty good deal living there.

Paying rent or helping with the utilities & food was never mentioned by the girls or from Jean about the girls -- as far as I know.

I just finished watching from episode 1 on :) and can not honestly recall it being mentioned. I only recall Jean commenting that they could save up for a new place by staying there.

Maybe it was just unspoken.
Maybe with Lionel worried about what he brought into the household they figured they had enough financial scenes covered.

But Lionel, as he has stated more than once, did not bring any money into the household. His book was a dud.

Lionel asked Jean once if he should pay towards his expenses, ie food and rent but she told him no, that his presence was enough.

I should have thought that Jenny should have been paying rent though, or maybe she was.

If I lived there I'd pay Sandy just to be there :-)

No way would Jean accept money from Sandy. They always joked about how she was Iron Drawers at work, but extremely kind and generous in the rest of her life, and she talked about Sandy being family from early on. Her house was paid off, she had her pension funded, and her business was successful - she didn't want more money, and only wanted to pay it forward and help her family and friends.
