Much as I do love Animaniacs I think the idea of a revival is a terrible idea based on the following-

A) Most animated shows nowadays tend to be more reliant on 3D animation and Flash animation. A no 2D animated Animaniacs would not feel the same.

B) It's a different time. Animaniacs was a perfect product for the 90's, but for today would be probably be a totally different story. In today's world it would likely end up trying to duplicate the kind of humor we see in modern cartoons like Adventure Time, The Looney Tunes Show, or SpongeBob SquarePants with predictable humor and attempts to be hipster-like and too sitcom-ish. It might work for those shows but it wouldn't be very fitting for Animaniacs.

C) Few shows that come back on TV are not as good as they once were. Most of the ones that do have a revival are lackluster and only alienate fans.

In other words, leave it as it is.

My ignore list is quite large.

I agree completely it is not a good idea and the Animaniacs/Tiny Toons are PERFECT example of the dangers of bringing back old characters. I don't mind the Tiny Toons but why watch when you put on the actual work of boys from Terminite Terrace. The Animaniacs were much more successful of bringing the old Looney Tunes humor back into the 90s mainstream animation. It was fun to watch and the references are clear. (I mentioned to my wife Slappy Squirrel was great because her character is how the LT characters would have acted as seniors.)

I think it would be impossible to capture that quality today. Anyway a lot of the talent from Animaniacs (& Tiny Toons) are still working on shows today.

So Tiny Toons and Animaniacs revivals would be bad right?

I think an Animaniacs Revival could work. I am a member of the Facebook group. Sure they would have to update the humor some but I think new episodes could work. Hey they revived Beavis and Butt-Head who I thought should forever remained buried in the 90s.

My biggest worry is that they would result to 3D or Flash animation instead of traditional cel animation which would totally ruin the show.

Agreed with all the other posts.

First of all, animaniacs was from the 1990s, and nowadays, there are new rules and themes that you could get away with then that you cant get away with now.

Second, the voice actors. How much do you think they want to get paid for a return? Probably a lot. More than the network is willing to dish out. That means recasting. It would not sound right if yakko was voiced by anyone other than rob paulsen. Also, ruegger's kids played a substancial role on the show back then, now they're adults. Skippy would have to be recast.

Third, the writers/producers. Currently, tom ruegger and sherri stoner are working on 7d right now. Sometimes you just have to move on.

As much as we'd want to see more animaniacs, it would be best if we just remembered how awesome it was back in its day rather than trying to squeeze it any harder.

Nope, can't recreate that magic. Too many stars were in alignment for it to ever feasibly happen again, even with the original cast and crew. Better just leave the memories alone, would hate for it to turn into the "equal" of things like Regular Show or Adventure Time or whatever. Fate worse than non-existence, that.
