I was always curious if this had happened........

When Billy and Sydney made the bet on whether or not Billy could dunk the ball, what do you think would have happened if Billy did indeed dunk it?

My thoughts are, Sydney would have asked Billy to forget the bet. I think Sydney would have tried to work it out.

Plus, what would Gloria have done when Billy came home with double the money? Would she be happy or mad that Billy took that chance?

Any thoughts?

If by some miracle he made the dunk, I think Sidney would've paid and Gloria would've been happy (although I don't believe Billy would've told her how he got that extra money). I think he would've paid off the money he owed in private and later told Gloria he took care of them.

That all said, there's a reason Sidney took the bet, he knew Billy couldn't dunk it. Even at the end when Billy finally dunks, it was an alley oop dunk. Considering that Sidney put the ball up perfectly (hardest part of executing the dunk) the alley oop would be easier because you don't have to worry about grip, the 1.5 lbs, resistance in air of going up with it, and you can get your arms fully in the momentum of the jump.

But to answer your question, see my first paragraph. I don't think Sidney would've asked him to forget about it. Those guys bet for a living and always settled despite getting hustled.
