She said that he took her money in the past and screwed up over pride just like he did with the championship money. I think she was very smart to leave in the end. Men like Billy would always lose in the end because he felt like he always had to prove himself. Yes, there were times that she needed to to shut up, but Billy was the problem, not Gloria.
