Conditional Love makes no sense
So, Cassandra hates Wayne and goes with Benjamin if 'Mr. Biggg'(?) does not give him an album deal.
Did I have that right? Everything depends on a materialistic record deal - whether Cassandra LOVES WAYNE, depends on whether some fat guy signs a contract with her.
Did I get this right?
So much for 'real love', if it's THAT conditional. When you watch all those endings, Cassandra stops loving wayne THE MOMENT she realizes she's not going to get that record deal.
So if 'Mr. Biggg' had NOT had his limo driver turn the limo around in a rush and hurried to Wayne's parents' house to tell Cassandra he is not interested, what would have happened?
Would Cassandra have kept her 'love' on the shelf and waited until enough time has passed, THEN unleashed her wrath on him because this producer guy did not arrive? Would she just keep loving Wayne 'forever'?
I mean, why would this guy even bother going to Wayne's parents' house if all he's going to do is tell her 'sorry, kid, wrong time'? Why wouldn't he just ignore the whole thing and go about his business normally and forget Cassandra and the Crucial Taunts?
What does HE benefit from turning the limo around to go tell some woman 'she's extremely beautiful' (AS IF a producer like that would do that, considering he must be basically swimming in 'beautiful women'...), but no?
The endings do not have to make that much sense - the Scooby-Doo bit was stupidly funny, and I wouldn't have it any other way - but it does underline just how CONDITIONAL Cassandra's love towards Wayne is.
This means, her love is not real, she does not love Wayne, and her 'love', such as it is, is... 'purchaseable' (is this even a word?)
When we continue on this path of logical conlusions... we can realize Cassandra is nothing but a - well, we all know by know what that word is.
Isn't it a bit disappointing that the woman Wayne ends up with is a.. well, she was plural, she would resemble a horse.
As in, 'there is a bunch of horse in the hallway'.
Sadly, in a supposed 'romantic' movie like this, this cold, hard fact makes no sense.
I don't usually like 'injected romance', but since it's MOSTLY kept funny and Tia Carrere is a 'robobabe' in this movie, it's easy to let it pass. Hey, sometimes 'romance' in movies makes sense! Too bad they ruined it in the endings, so in this movie, it eventually doesn't.
