Yes it does! But 'Stairway to Heaven' makes no sense

This movie is good, its humor is timeless, and it is the PERFECT example of how to elevate a relatively lame and cringy skit into a full-fledged movie and make it good. Unlike AVGN, the people that made Wayne's World knew what they were doing.

However, the 'No Stairway to Heaven' makes no sense.

First, does everyone play it so much, they had to put a sign like that?

Second, WHATEVER Wayne is playing, is _NOT_ even a tiny part of that particular song. Listen to it and you tell me which part is that supposed to be?

That is _NOT_ Stairway to Heaven! Why did they not include ACTUAL part of that song, instead of that random batch of notes Mike plays there? I mean, if I can learn to play the beginning of it, ANYONE can.

With movies, no one even HAS to know how to play anything, everything can be just added in post if need be. So there is NO excuse.. I don't think I can ever get over them ruining their own joke by actually not even playing the song the joke is all about.

Sigh.

Still, otherwise, this is a great movie and not only very funny, but also genuinely FUN. I recommend it wholeheartedly, and anyone talking about 'not holding up' can just try to explain how movies can ever 'hold' anything, up or in any other direction..

A movie, video game, book, TV show, demo, painting, comic, and so on and so forth - is ABSOLUTE in its 'goodness'.

Something like that is not good because people think its good, and when they no longer think it's good, it suddenly loses it goodness. That's NOT how anything works!

Something that was good 'back then', is ALWAYS going to be good, for all eternity. The goodness does not change. Therefore, it's pure INSANITY to talk about 'aging', 'being dated' or 'holding up'.

None of these are applicable to entertainment of ANY kind!

There are, obviously, things that seemed to be good because of the hype, culture or other things, but the thing is, those things were never ACTUALLY good, so that is why it seems 'they don't hold up'.

However, actually good things are not like that. Only things that never were are like that, so if something 'doesn't hold up', it means it was _NEVER_ good to begin with, even if people back in the day THOUGHT it was.

Things are good or bad in an ABSOLUTE, timeless sense. A culture, decade or 'different times' do not DICTATE whether something is or was good or not. A good video game was, is and will always be good, regardless of how a world, culture, city, planet, solar system or the Universe changes around it. The goodness does NOT change, so movies, games, etc. can NOT 'age', 'be dated' or 'hold up' (or 'not hold up')!

How small is your thinking if you don't realize this? It doesn't matter when something was made or what the culture or trends were back in the day. If something is good, it is always good. If something 'was good' but is 'now bad', then it was NEVER good, it only SEEMED that way due to some distortion effect, like hype, cultural values or whatnot.

Wayne's World just happens to be a good movie, which means it was good in 1992, it was good in 2002, it was good in 2024, and it will be good in 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999992.

The only problem is, the references might be hard to understand in that year.
