This movie deserves way more cred and fans.

I'm really surprised that when I run into fellow horror fans, in real life or online, I rarely hear a word out of their mouth in regards to this film or when I mention it, a majority of the time the person will not have seen it.

It's just a bit of a surprise. I mean, I realize it wasn't the largest release in the world, and the DVD may not be easy to find anymore... But I just remember catching this on TV growing up and always being entertained by it, and I finally bought it on DVD a few years back.

It's really a great film. Sure there's some annoying bits like the music or some of the lines, but outside of that, it's a great homage to the genre.

I always suggest it whenever someone asks for horror movies on a forum.
I love the first one, but the 2nd one is one of my favorite movies. It's so cheesy, but entertaining, fun and goofy. Love it!

Agreed. This film is just loads of goofy tongue-in-cheek fun.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

I've shown this movie to friends, and they've all laughed their rear-ends off and ended up quoting it :) People who grew up in VHS-rental days watching the likes of Aliens, Dawn of the Dead, badly-dubbed Godzilla movies, etc, will definitely get the most out of it.

But Bruce Campbell in the pastiche of "The Haunting" is worth the price of admission alone. No other actor blends slapstick and the suffering of extreme pain half as well as Bruce Campbell can.

Can't help feeling that other better-known films borrowed rather heavily from this and the original Waxwork, e.g. Last Action Hero: the concept of entering various classic movies (W2) and assembling a dream-team of notorious villains (W1).

Tried watching it yesterday-simply unwatchable. I even tried fast forwarding it a few minutes but it just got worse and worse. I made it to Alien rip off part but then had to stop it-felt I was wasting my life. Zach is horrid-what happened???

Pretty good as far as sequels go
