shareThe novel is just a novelization of the film entitled Universal Soldier. I own it and Timecop (the only Van Damme film novelizations I ever remember seeing) I remember the comics but I never owned any of them myself.

Mile High Comics has the comics on their site for pretty cheap as well. I think they are just an adaptation of the film though.

Yeah, NOW Comics did a bunch of film adaptions at the time, like Freejack, Universal Soldier, Fright Night, Little Monsters and stuff. I think Fright Night is the only one they made into an ongoing series of new stories.
Lunchbox-3 is correct, the NOW Comics 'Universal Soldier' mini-series was just an adaptation of the movie. I think there were three issues.
In the early Nineties, the UK branch of Marvel Comics published a series called 'Super Soldiers' which closely copied the 'Universal Soldier' concept.
