Carolco/TriStar did an ad campaign to get US1 considered for a nomination at the Oscars!

Realistically they could have been nominated for sound design or another technical award (action movies always got these back in the 90s)

I can see why they would think they would be considered for technical Oscars but this was a glorified B film.
