Americans Suck in Troll 2

I was under the impression from Best Worst Movie that the Italian crew were mostly to blame,
....if only the US actors were given better direction and dialogue.

However, after watching the actual film Troll 2 tonight, the reverse seems obvious to me.

The US actors are pitiful, pathetic - they would be lost and alone (in hindsight) without having this mediocre but passionate Italian director to blame for their own faults.

The cinematography and editing seems pro.

It's very easy to stand on stage, in your own country, amongst a large group of people, and snicker and point the blame - against one single man.

Remove the Yanks and we could be talking a classic.

I didn't get that impression at all. Clearly the director believed he has made some kind of masterpiece and was deeply insulted by the reactions he observed. I didn't see one actor suggest that it was his fault that they performed badly, but I think that's definitely the case - he made them so uncomfortable and was clearly extremely critical of them, to the point where they didn't want him around. When they re-enacted certain scenes for fun, their acting was equally as bad in the presence of the director, and massively improved when he wasn't there. I think it's safe to say that he doesn't get the best out of his actors. If he were so competent, why has he never made a decent film?

Actually, every actor acknowledged that they were either untrained and/or simply horrible in The Best Worst Movie.
