I remember an actual case...
... I think it was in the '70s when a Hasidic diamond merchant disappeared in Brooklyn and was feared murdered. I remember they looked all over for him and I think they never found a clue. He most probably had diamonds on him when he disappeared but it wasn't unusual for them to carry diamonds around because there had been zero trouble especially among the Hasidics themselves. Anybody remember this?
