Even Stallone hates this movie

I remember he was on The Best Dam Sports Show and it was either John Salley or Tom Arnold who reminded him about this movie. As soon as they said it, Stallone laughed and said "Don't go there. Big mistake" That's funny!

if u go to the trivia section of this film it says Stallone considered this the worst movie he's ever done.

I think he has done worse movies. What about rockyV

reply

Actually some of you don't know the whole truth. He considers both comedies - this one and Oscar his worst efforts ever. He's reffering to the fact that he should have never made a comedy, "that was that mistake". You didn't get it. He certainly likes this movie like many others but he just doesn't like himself in it. Big difference!

Bet he wishes a little movie called "Rhinestone" never existed. :)

Even Oscar? Why not Rhinestone?! Oscaar IMO is one of his best films and severely underrated!

ralph-135...

I thought Rocky V was the best one since the second film, storywise.

3 and 4 had great fights and moments, granted... but the best Rocky's for me are the ones where he wears his black jacket and hat and bounces his bouncy ball in the street.

(I.e. the streetwise likeable chap) the character became somewhat less interesting when he became rich. IMO

P.s. Rocky 6, excellent!

Take care.

Rocky V was fine.If you wanna talk about his bad movies, what about mentioning these?
Rhinestone
Assassins
Avenging Angelo
Oscar
Driven
Get Carter
The Specialist

reply

You should watch some 30s comedies, Oscar is a throwback to that type of comedy.

Rocky 5 is ok but there are a number of factors that just simply doesn't make it a better film and it doesn't flow as well as the other Rocky films. I like the concept but it's a wasted potential.

I can understand why Sly hates this film. I saw it not too long ago and thought it was awful, I love comedy but I really wished they had a better script than they did here because that script was really dire. But I don't understand why he hates Oscar so much, that movie is actually really funny and one of Sly's most underrated films.

I saw 'Stop!' years ago and thought it was watchable enough. By comparison, I wasn't able to finish Oscar. That one was Sly's genuine misfire.

If Rocky Balboa listened to Lady Gaga...is this the movie we'd get? http://youtu.be/o_tPQzEkqQo

Maybe you didn't like Oscar as it's an old fashioned comedy, you probably are not very familiar with older films but Oscar is a fantastic film IMO.

reply

He hates it because people criticized it very harshly when in fact, it's a very underrated film. Rhinestone was a lot worse imo.

Hi! Off topic but: does Stallone kill anyone in this movie? I'd really like to know for a supercut I'm making.

reply

According to the triva section it say he got tricked int doing this movie,Sly and Arnold were still Rivals in the 90s and apparently Sly heard Arnold was interested(Which was a trick) in doing this movie so Sly so he wanted to do this movie. It was not that bad I actually thought he was alright in this movie

How could Arnold Schwarzenegger have even be considered for this role. He couldn't play Italian with an Italian Mother. How dumb is Stallone for not realising that.
