So what is Bobby (and Jimmy's) future?

Just saw this again on the Bounce Network, and I can't help but think what kind of future the OG Bobby will have. What do you all think he ended up doing? I somehow think that being in a gang all those years, and if you leave, there are few options, with a criminal record and all.

Slightly better in the long run than staying in the gang. That's the point, they barely have a guaranteed bright future without Deuce. But they both have no future is they don't get out.

True it's tough to get a job with a felony, but Bobby has to live with that and he'd rather deal with that than be in prison. At least Jimmy has a chance for a much better life. He has two parents and while one is a convicted murderer and the other is a junkie, he's much better off than being with Ray-Ray. Who's very manipulative and will probably do Jimmy like he kinda unintentionally did to Bobby, (but didn't regret it because he profited from it, but had much less of a reason to kill Genie than Bobby did, and probably originally hoped it was him and Bobby instead of him and Bear running thangs, I might add). Regardless, Jimmy was well on his way to being another Fall-Guy like his Daddy was.

Jimmy may still have a bleak future, and speaking from experience, that's ghetto life. However, living in the ghetto is no excuse for becoming a career criminal. You have to find different ways to apply yourself.

Would it be far-fetched to think that Jimmy becomes a Ping-Pong champion like Forest Gump? Sadly, considering his family, injuries, neighborhood and possible educational opportunities, Ping-Pong Champ is his best chance to make something out of himself. But not his only chance. Again speaking from experience, just because you live in a crime-riddle area, doesn't mean you should give up except the worst fates.

I would like to think that Willie Manchester would come back into the picture later on and help Bobby out with finding employment

After all Bobby did save the guys life so it's only right that Willie would sympathize with him for that reason and because he heard the speech Bobby gave his son which had to have touched him because of his own desire to want to protect his family as a man.

Maybe even Ray Ray turned his life around after that night but that's a whole other story.

Crazy how I ask this question every time I see this movie. I always wanted to see someone make a film based on their trials and experiences afterwards. I believe he went through the proper channels to legally get his son back. Just like one poster mentioned above me that finding employment for ex-cons is very difficult, but maybe Willie Manchester was able to be of some assistance along with organizations that are put in place to help men leaving prison find jobs and re-establish themselves back into society. Skies the limit to anyone who has the right mindset in achieving their goals. That's why I love this movie because it is realistic and it hits home with me on so many levels. Movies like this don't get made often because it goes against the mainstream agenda.

Maybe the Muslim in prison has outside connections and therefore can help Bobby get a job and keep his son off the streets. They would have to move though. Can't stay there or they'll never have a chance.

Unless Bobby was able to pick up and move Jimmy far away from that neighborhood and maybe even the city, they would have both been constantly targeted by gang members for being "busters". Plus, Jimmy would have been forced to endure the worst type of bullying imaginable so he likely would have turned back to the gang and the gang banging just to survive in that neighborhood. If Bobby had picked up and moved them away, like to another city, they could have at least started over away from the deuces but it would still be an uphill battle to keep Jimmy away from the streets.
