I adore the the parallel and contrast between Gregor leaning back into shadow and asking Martin to trust him, and Cosmo leaning forward into light and asking Martin to trust him. It is a clever subversion of the traditional implications of light and darkness in regard to good or evil.

I, too, love a "parallel and contrast" sequence best... the scrabble game and box test during the party. One light-hearted, one dramatic, both zeroing in on the truth...
