I think Charles did like her. If you remember, he asked his mother, "Does it have to be her?" So I think he was lusting after her for more then hunger.
Yeah he did like her. Which is why he told her "You dont know me" during the graveyard scene. I think he was hinting at her to let him be. But she was stupid and didnt get the message.
Btw does anyone know the song that was playing when Charles and his Mom were dancing?
