*(SPOILER) The Mom Shooting the Cop Cars

Ok, there are things --many things-- that are beyond stupid in this film, but I wanted to single out just one:

When Mrs. Brady is taking Madchen Amick from the house, she shoots at the cop cars and with one single bullet to each, the vehicles BLOW UP?!!?!!

Was she using her Sleepwalker magic to do this? Or was it just another dumb, unnecessary thing Mick Garris added to this film?

I'm surprised no one else has commented on this!

Of all the things I let slide about the plot, the 'exploding bullets' seemed to be the most unrealistic.

Guess the police really pack some firepower in that little town.

Eh when I was a kid and couldn't read too much into how far fetched it seemed I just chopped it up to well placed gas tank bullets lol

Is there such a thing as any film where a car gets shot that it does not blow up? That's simply standard Hollywood logic.
