Always my 'WORST' answer

For years, when people would ask me what the worst movie I ever saw was, I would answer without pause, "Sleepwalkers"

Now this film is long-forgotten (which is good), but I still haven't found a film since then to rival this one as an all-time turd.

Can anyone help me think of an equally gawd-awful film to tell people when they ask me the worst question now...some film that people will know what I'm talking about?

Hopefully you will jog my memory about something awful I saw, and forgot...

Sleepwalkers was bad, but I think it's far from the worst. It's actually difficult to judge "The Worst," even from a subjective view, unless you make some parameters. Mine were always these:

1. The movie has to have a decent sized budget. This would rule out a lot of 'B' movies, obscure movies and documentaries.
2. The movie can't in any way be intentionally bad or knowingly/acceptingly bad. This would rule out the "Movie" movies (Epic, Teen, whatever), movies that pay homage to old styles (Blacksploitation, 70's or 80's style, etc.) and some styles of horror or porn).
3. The movie can't be so bad that it is good (i.e., funny): "Battlefield Earth," for example.

With these parameters in mind, "The Worst" for me is the sci-fi epic "Millennium," which starred Kris Kristofferson and Cheryl Ladd. Not only can you see through the plot, you get to see it twice. Oh, and also this dialogue gem: "It is not the end. It is not the beginning of the end. It is the end of the beginning."
Bad.

While I won't say this is a good movie, it has it's campy appeal that I really enjoy.

For other WORST movies in my opinion:
Lawnmower Man
Moulin Rouge
The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain
Burn After Reading (with the exception of Brad Pitt getting punched)

Problem lies in the fact that everyone's opinions are subjective, so my WORST movie could be one of your favorites...

"I feel like a dolphin who's never tasted melted snow"

Rabid Grannies is pretty terrible. It bored the hell out of me. And with a title like "Rabid Grannies," you would think cinema gold, right?

Sleepwalkers doesn't take itself seriously enough to be truly bad, plus it's got some imaginative effects, quite an original and bizarre concept, Mädchen Amick, a ton of cameos, gore, a hilariously weird dynamic between a cat and black police officer, and a decent score. It's just too damn entertaining to be truly bad. The real stinkers are films like a Die Hard 4 or Robocop 3 - that ruin a once-great franchise by turning it into braindead kiddy fare.

You have not seen The Shining mini series or firestarter. Thoses films are really horrible.

Sleepwalkers is very good, great campy fun! Sort of Maximum Overdrive Style.
