I always admired "you people"? Hmm seems the last time someone used the phrase "you people", they got in trouble for it.

that being said there is a nunnery near me and once i said to one of the nun's "i've always admired you people" she took it as a complement

I think people try too hard to get offended. I remember being in 3rd grade and learning the concept of context clues, and if people would just use common sense, they would see there's a big difference between
"God, YOU PEOPLE are all the same...!"
and
"I've always admired YOU PEOPLE..."
