Habit question

Why is Sister Mary Robert's habit different from the others (with hair showing)?
For younger nuns or something? And why would that be?

Novices usually wear outfits like that until they take their initial vows. It sometimes takes sisters seven years to make final vows.

Correct Noviciates wear that clothing. God may very well have had destroyed me, but if these were real people, I would have been obligated to go to San Fran and try and court Sister Mary Robert before her vows of chastity. If that didn't work out, there would be no point in an ordinary life, and I would have had to devote myself to a chaste religious lifestyle as well, and become one of the fathers. At least then we could have still been close in brotherhood. Of course that is not the only right purpose for devoting yourself to religion, I just loved her so much :-)

Actually, she is a postulant. Not a novice. It's the period of discernment before the novitiate.

Omg, i just read all the recent posts and dammit, i am so sick of the word "postulant" now...

Bishop O'Hara: You took a vow of hospitality for all in need.
Rev. Mother: I lied.
