Did Whoopi (and the other actresses) do their singing?

Everyone but Sister Mary Robert does their own singing. Sister Mary Robert is faking it. It took Whoopi MONTHS of lessons to get her voice to sound like that.

Really? I seem to remember reading that the musical directors for the movie praised her for her inherent musicality and how quickly she mastered what she needed to learn for the movie.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
