The Musical!

So have you guys heard there is going to be a musical version coming to the stage here in London in May?
Sounds great... though none of the original music is going to be in it! Thats the best bit, i love singing along to all the songs, so not sure how it will be without them. Would like to go see it though.
What are your thoughts?

The Musical is based on the first film.
Whoopi Goldberg is producing it, the musical first started in a playhouse and is being brought to the west end before it goes onto broadway.
The music is different all new songs etc, but they were all written by alan menkin (spelling?) who did all the disney music.
The story has apparently changed slightly, but its still about wittnessing a murder etc.
Whoopi assures people that she has found an amazing woman to play delores, and that the whole point of sister act the musical is to bring it to a new generation, in a new way.

Wrong both of you are,
The Musical is based on none of the films it is a re-write of both the films together in one musical, The music is being written by the guy who wrote the stage music for Little Shop Of Horrors and OPENS in London it has not opened in any playhouse the only place it has opened previous to London is America,

it opens on 7th May with a Preview period

I saw it & it was amazing. Even though the real songs weren't in it, it was still GREAT overall. And I believe, if I remember correctly, that Whoppi actually partly wrote it.

I saw the Broadway production last night. They show is still in previews. Very flashy, a lot of fun, with wonderful music. Patina Miller and Victoria Clarke are pretty amazing.

The show sort of reminded me of the Legally Blonde musical.
