What the hell?
Thought it would be arouund 7,1 or so.
But 6.0 is way too low. Whats up with you guys? :(
A low score on IMDB for a movie with a black female lead on IMDB??? Shocking!

shareUnfortunately, no. About 1,5% of all voters gave this movie a 1. The votes are quite nicely distributed below and above 6. The arithmatic mean is 6.3, the media in 6.0. Females are just a tad more likely to appreciate this movie than males, but not much.
So this movie is a sure 6.0. Can't help it. I gave it a 9, because I like it, in spite of it being quite a bit schematic and thus predictable. But 'in its genre' it is a classic, thanks to Mrs. Goldberg.
It's just that not many people think like you and I. I can live with that. Public opinion does not have to represent *my* opinion. Why should it?
This movie is schlock. 6.0 is about right, maybe a little high.
shareI just finished watching this yet again on WE-TV and I totally agree, 6.0 is way too low. This is one of those classic comedies you can watch over and over, pick up at any point, and enjoy it just as much the 10th time as you did the 1st. Rankings at IMDB are sometimes surprising, this one I think is hurt by its release date. Many IMDB users weren't even born in 1992. I give it a solid 8 stars, with some really engaging performances, great musical numbers and really fun script.
It is entertaining, which is what a film should be - and I dare to say, "more important" films such as SCHINDLER'S LIST do not demand repeat viewings like SISTER ACT.
