Eddie Vedder

Being that he's not an actor, he had amazing screen presence in this and good timing for what little bits he's in. I also saw something on YouTube with him shooting a promo for SNL. He had good comedic timing in that as well. If he wasn't an insanely talented musician, he could have had a go at acting.

Jeff is reading to himself for so long because he's not reading out the 'negative' stuff to Cliff, as requested. I always saw Eddie's glancing at Cliff as him checking for Cliff's reaction to the fact that there were obviously so many bad comments in the review - Cliff was becoming increasingly anxious whilst waiting for Jeff to read out the good comments.

Hahaha, that part was so funny. He was lovely.

I've watched this before just for the Eddie Vedder moments. When he is watching the beehive footage, he's got it.

epic. and classic.

"A compliment for us is a compliment for you" LOL...really love this Eddie's line: http://i.imgur.com/bu92q.gif

Also, I adore Eddie's face when he was watching bee's documentary.

Eddie was involved in theater in high school. He was considered very talented and many thought he'd become an actor.

Is he only in the one scene in Singles? I saw it so many years ago, I can't remember.

I feel somewhat awkward replying to your question when I haven't posted within this thread before, though I'm pretty sure he's present within at least three scenes, though he only really speaks within the one where the band's in the coffee shop.

Thanks for your response, Jack.

Since posting, I've seen the brief but hilarious scene where Eddie Vedder and bandmate Jeff Ament are mesmerized by a television documentary on bees while Dillon's character bemoans the Portland show.

reply

Haha- yes! And they shush him at the very end of the scene.

I can second this.....Vedder's acting was legit.

reply

Agree- loved Eddie in this film even if it was just a little bit.
