Anyone else feel sorry for Hedy at the end?

Now, keeping in mind that I'm an overly sentimental 28 year old guy, it's not surprising here that I found the ending very sad when Allie stabs Hedy for the final times as Hedy calls out "Allie..." Maybe it was the delivery of that line, but that scene almost made me tear up. Perhaps it's the realization that Hedy was a victim of circumstance, her mental illness that tainted her. And it was also the fact that Allie didn't really want to kill Hedy, but realized she had to. It was either she killed her, or she would be killed by Hedy. Did anyone else find this as profoundly sad as I did?

reply

I did too. The way Hedy called out "Allie" as Allie stabbed her was heartbreaking. She almost sounded childlike, calling out to her older sister for help.

I wish Hedy hadn't been killed, I know she was a sociopath but I think she deserved professional help.

reply

Nah. In fact I was kind of hoping Allie would kick her in the face real quick.

Personally, I was glad that it was finally over. The entire third act was utterly unrealistic and drawn out. What a theatrical bore. I did not feel sorry for Hedy. More than anything it was like watching a slasher film and Allie, by stupidity or several happy coincidences, misses her opportunity to escape. Not to mention the fact she was apparently strangled to death.

I didn't feel bad for either one of them. Both were pathetic, though Hedy is perhaps more sympathetic. Too bad both bitches didn't die.

reply

I did too, as I felt that Hedy, as messed up as she was, just wanted to be wanted/loved, and could really have benefitted from professional help.

Nope... She was a murderer. Who by the way, also killed a puppy.

I know many even women who will not feel sorry at least in REAL life for a woman like her who has committed several offenses including murder.

The greatest trick the Devil has ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist!

reply

I thought it was tragic but I couldn't feel too sorry for Heddy; she refused help and was very manipulative. She deceptively seduced Sam (and then killed him), killed an innocent puppy and tried to murder Allie and Graham.

reply

Why the hell would I wanna sympathize for a murderer?

reply

I did too… It like saying its someone's own fault that they are autistic: Hedy didn't chose to have the childhood trauma that unfortunately prescribed her behavior….And I disagree with the post below …she didn't kill the puppy
