Was Chuck being at the tournament all part of Barry’s imagination?

I want to say no but doesnt chuck like disappear at the end when they’re outside? Does this mean he wasn’t really there? If the whole tournament and chuck was real why make him disappear afterwards?

He was definitely at the tournament. The teacher talked to him.

Maybe the part where Chuck disappeared at the end was part of Barry's imagination. He didn't need the crutch anymore.
