Underknown, powerful Damon performance

I don't how many other people are now watching this on Encore after not knowing about it or like me sort of dismissing it when it came out (I was in high school at the time), but Damon for his small role really gives a nuanced performance as a basically likeable if racist prep school kid of his era pushed into bitterness and vengeance. I always thought his most interesting performances were in the '90s: Courage Under Fire, Hunting, culminating with Talented Mr. Ripley (with Bourne he just basically became a straight-ahead action hero), and it starts with the one delivered here (plus, Affleck is part of the cast; probably formed the basis of their famous friendship).

Agreed, for me Damon's best performances were in his early career. Not to say his performances are bad now. But once Bourne/Ocean's hit they became so much of his body of work.
