Favouite bit

The bit I loved the most in The Player was probably the bit that made me laugh the most (apart from the hi-larious Bruce Willis entrance...that joke was set up so well!). Anyway, i can't remember the exact quote, but it was in the opening shot, where there are people pitching ideas. Most of these ideas were very funny, but my favouite was

'Manchurian Candidate meets Ghost- Its a pyschic, political thriller- with a heart!

This really made me laugh, especially if you try and imagine a cross between those films.

I can hear you now: "Get out of my life, you perfectly wonderful woman!"

LOL Joe-Joe. That is a great part.

I like it when people are describing ideas how they always put "meets" in between things.

But you never find out if they like each other when they meet. Do they start up a friendship? Or do they go their separate ways and never cross paths again?

Just because they "meet" doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing. Lots of people "meet", and nothing ever becomes of it...

They could even become enemies!

Thats very true (I think..)

If Ghost met Manchurian Candidate, who knows what would happen! My guess: some kind of brainwashed ghostbuster in an epic battle against some pottery lovin' ghosts- WITH A TWIST!

I can hear you now: "Get out of my life, you perfectly wonderful woman!"

I love the line by Robbins: Oh, it's like The Gods Must Be Crazy, except that instead of a coke bottle it's a TV actress.

The movie Ghost meets Manchurian Candidate, with Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson .... wrap your head around that!

One of my favorite scenes is when Griffin Mill (Tim Robbins) is at an outdoor cafe with friends (producers, actors, whatever) and they're all talking about movies. At one point Griffin says something like, "Can we all stop talking about movies for awhile? I mean we're all adults here". And someone says, "Sure, no problem". Then long pause. And then they all start laughing. I mean, of course, it's pathetic because they have nothing else in common. But it's still really funny!

I didn't think it was funny but for some reason my favourite scene was with Glenn and Tomlin in the rushes. Eerie.

I loved Buck Henry's GRADUATE sequel pitch and the one about the TV star held prisoner by the African tribe (It's PRETTY WOMAN meets OUT OF AFRICA).
