DVD

Anyone know where you can buy this online in Europe? It is impossible to find anywhere.

reply

Sadly not. Why is it the good - but less well-known - films are so hard to track down? I'd love a copy of this. When I borrowed it from the library it was only there because someone taped it off the TV ten years ago.

Yeah, I went to my video store the other night (they usually have just about everything) because I had a craving for this movie due to the boards, and they didn't even have it in their impressive vhs collection. *whimper* I haven't been able to find my old HBO copy, so I'm stuck.

I wish there were some way to contact Ken, an official site or something, to let him know there are fans of this movie out there who are interested in seeing a dvd release.....

It was released in this country but is now deleted. There are frequently copies on Ebay. As I write this, there are about ten copies for sale by the same seller, user name 'gowingstore.' Not supposed to be particularly good quality, but still an official release and better than nothing. Hope this helps.

No, I don't know where you can get a copy, but I want it to come out on DVD here in the U.S. I love this flick and can't figure out why it has not been released. Great ensemble.

But for Americans it can be very hard to find...British prints of films (DVD and VHS won't play here on our machines)so ordering it off British Amazon doesn't help us.

Thanks for the help... bit expensive for such an old movie £35? Wonder why they sell them for such a high price. Bit too pricy for me for such an old film :/

reply

Look on Ebay, they are on Pal format. I recommend buying a code free DVD player so you'll not loose the opportunity to buy many good movies not available on the USA. I bought mine using the internet on the USA and plays fine. I have many movies not released in the USA worth to own.

My mother bought a VHS of it for £1.99 in WHSmith not long ago. That means there must still be copies for sale floating around in shops, so keep looking.

Of course they've brought forth juniper berries, they're juniper bushes!

In case anyone's interested in the UK, I just bought a copy of the DVD from HMV today. There isn't a date on it or anything saying when it was released, so I think it must have been quite recently.
