What is your favourite 'so bad it's good' films apart from this one

I'd nominate Cliffhanger

Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?

funny how these 'so bad its good' movies are a billion times better than the utter garbage we see in action movies today. I dont care how 'predictable' or cheesy this was, movies like crank are plain awful compared to this. Films in the 90s actually told a story bit by bit..films today use any excuse for high speed camera movements, excessive cgi, crap music and recycled plots we've all seen before. I find it unbeleivable that today's generation prefers crap like that, I really dont know where it went wrong...

My vote would be the "The Punisher" (orignal version). I used to love that movie so much when I was younger, but now when I watch it, I'm like "It's not all that." Yet it's still a favortie of mine.

i agree, now movies are pretty bad but use a more fair example than Crank. That's just terrible. In any decade, century, or millenium.

two words....Road House

reply

I don't know if it's because I was only a kid when I saw Road House but I still like it all these years later. I just watched Passenger 57 for the first time and I know I'll never watch it again.

One of my favorite bad movies is Cyborg with Van Damme. I saw it when I was a kid and thought it was crap but when I was a little older (20s) I ended up loving it! Weird I know.

On the other hand, I saw Judge Dredd when it came out and thought it sucked and I still think it sucks.

I thought that was ok for an indy horror with high cost & low budget.

Tango & Cash!!

I agree with all those, esp Road House. I seen Surviving the Game the first time last month, good call on that one too. I d like to throw a few more out there Men at Work, They Live, and pretty much any early Arnold movie.

Deep Rising... really bad and yet fantastically well made and performed

reply

ha ha i will probably get crap for this but
Judge Dredd
any Van Damm movie

reply

you know, i'm not sure i would put this movie under that label, but to answer your question, i'd go with "The Replacements" with Keanu Reeves...

Surviving The Game with Ice T, Rutger Haur, Gary Busey, Charles S. Dutton, F. Murray Abraham & John C. McGinley: A Serious 'So Bad It's Good' classic!

Replacement Killers - Chow yun fat. I LOVE that movie :D

One thing that sells all the old 90s action movies for me is the music, just listen to that late 80s/90s guitar, electronic drums and all. Bad Boys had it, and oh my word the mother of all amazing soundtracks has to go to Tango & Cash.
