Would Lisa be alive if..

When the robber took Lisa hostage, and Cutter agreed to put his gun down.. he speaks to Lisa telling her "everythings gonna be alright baby" - calling her baby affectively lets the robber know that they were together.. at this point the robber kills her.. what is his motivation here.. was he intending to kill her anyway or did he decide to do it once Cutters words told him she was his girl?

Wow I was just thinking the same thing after recently watching this movie, I definely think Cutter is the reason she is dead..instead of playing super hero he should have just let the robber get the money and leave but instead he tried to stop the robber and put his wife life in danger and with him calling her baby that lets the robber know he's got the upper hand and I think he killed her just to hurt Cutter and let him live with the fact that if you would have never attempted to stop me from robbing this store your wife would still be alive.

Most black folk call ladies "baby" hardly a giveaway to a robber.

There was no way of knowing how reasonable the robber was anyways.

Wesley Snipes was a head of security man. Its part of a security guard's duty to not just stand there and let a crime happen, no matter where they are. A security guard cannot make an arrest, but they can restrain someone such as holding a gun on them while sending for the police, and then making sure they don't get away until the police arrive. Especially if it's a major crime like armed robbery.
