Muppets aside, this was the best scrooge portrayal

Too bad the puppets had to be included. Michael Caine embodied the character in every way.

Even had a slight working class London accent, which would have made sense as part of Scrooges drive came from being ''self made'' which later fed into is austerity beliefs (''If I can pull myself up by my own bootstraps anyone can type of mentality''). He was absolutely perfect. And his sobbing at the grave site was the most genuine of any actor playing scrooge.

I love this movie

I like his performance a lot. But I think my favorite Scrooge is Alystar Simm from the 1950 film. I like the George C. Scott adaptation too though a problem with it is because of the actor playing him, he still seems like a jerk at the end. It's hard seeing George C. Scott as a nice man.

Michael Caine is a fine Scrooge, but Alastair Sim will always be my definitive portrayal.
