How Different Would This Movie Be...
Had Jim Henson not died? I'm not really sure.
Thoughts?
good question. personally die to the previous method of using puppets in the lead roles not humans scrooge wouldn't have been played by caine. he wouldn't have been played by kermit either but i have no idea what muppet would have played him. it's a good question but one that could neveer been answered. with brian directing it meant he could take a step back from his fathers work and move it into a stronger direction bringing in new audiences whilst he was at it. And lets face it he did a blinding job
Thunderbirds Aren't Slow
I think Scrooge would have still been played by a human. Look at all the other Muppets movies. There was a fair mixture of humans along with the Muppets. I don't think it would have changed much.

I think the Jim Henson death greatly influenced the tone of the movie. In my opinion it makes the movie much more sad when you consider that Brian was actually working through his grief in part through his art.
shareI noticed that the film seemed to be preoccupied with overcoming death and loss. I suspect that if Jim Henson hadn't died, these themes wouldn't have been as significant in the film. It might have placed an emphasis on comedy instead, or the common Muppets theme of living out life dreams.
shareI'm guessing Gonzo wouldn't have played Charles Dickens. I know that Brian wanted a Dickens character in it for narration, but I also heard that he favored the characters of Gonzo and Rizzo so that's probably why they were there. Good thing too (I loved them in this).
