Sad, or morbid?

What do you guys think? Do you find the grave scene where Scrooge is begging and crying at the grave to be sad, or dark and morbid? I use to find it sad, but now that I think about it, it is actually pretty morbid and dark. The way Scrooge begs as the Ghost of Christmas future stands over him makes it very creepy.

I never really thought of it as morbid. He has realized that he has messed up and is begging for a second chance. Dark and sad might be more appropriate. After all he is begging for his very life and another chance.

Also Marley and Marley at the first warns him and tells him that he can avoid the paths they took, so that gives him an out when the ghost of the future stands ominously over him.

Maybe I'm rambling but that is what I got out of that scene and movie
