I read that on the 10th anniversary DVD love is gone is only on the full screen version. Who knows why... I've only got the VHS that I hounded my parents for when it came out on tape. I was a tad obsessed with this movie when I was a kid. Still love it.

Noticed this in the FAQ section:

Where can I find the uncut version of this movie?

The original 1993 VHS release had an additional scene not in the theatrical version, featuring the song "When Love is Gone." On the first DVD release in 2002, it was not included.

In 2005, a (Kermit's) "50th Anniversary Edition" was released, and it contains the theatrical and extended versions. The cover states "Anniversary Edition" at the bottom with "50" in the far left corner. The back will indicate in a green bubble, "Includes Widescreen & Extended Full Screen Version With Deleted Scene!"

I never saw this movie in the theatre so I had no idea that the song isn't part of the original. I was *so* disappointed when I got the DVD version and the song wasn't part of it, since it's my favorite (well, that and "It Feels Like Christmas" - I totally adore the Ghost of Christmas Present - he so makes me think of Santa!), especially when Scrooge can hardly sing it, it affects him that much.

Having that song also makes "The Love We've Found" - the song at the end a lot more touching.

I'll definitely look for the 50th Anniversary Edition so I can get the song back.
