Amazing behind the scenes story

This was the first major Muppet project after the death of creator Jim Henson. Henson had performed Kermit and the role was now being handed down to Steve Whitmire. According to Whitmire he was incredibly nervous about taking over such an iconic character. The night before he had to go record Kermit's songs for the movie, he had a dream where he met Henson in a hotel lobby and told him how unsure he was. In the dream, Henson reassured Whitmire that the feeling would pass. After waking up, Whitmire was confident and able to do the part.

I agree, this is an amazing tidbit that makes this movie even more heartwarming. Shortly after my grandmother passed I had a very vivid dream in which she visited me and told me things I needed to hear. Whether it was my subconscious working out her death, or something more, I can't say... But reading that tidbit I felt in my heart the same way I felt after that dream. Almost brought tears to my eyes!

Kudos go to Steve Whitmire! He did an awesome job, sounded just like Kermit the Frog! He was so exact I really thought Jim Henson must have recorded this before his death and the movie came out after, as it is dedicated to him, and didn't know until I looked it up afterwards.
