I CAN"T belibe they cut the love is gone

okay so this might have beeen brought up a million times but still whoever made that decision was nuts . Its a good song, it is wonderfully performed to. Brian Henson was right to be
pissed about it. When they made ' Wizard of OZ' the producers wanted to cut out "Somewhere Over the Rainbow' they said it was undignified for an MGM starlet to sing in a barn. When the 'Little Mermaid' came out Michael Esinere wanted to cut out "Part of Your World" he said it slowed down the movie to much. In both instances the producers were compeley wrong and more to the point the directors convinced them to keep in the songs. It is a shame Henson could not do it here. It is an important song not only because it comes back at the end with the 'Love is found'. But also because it shows how far Scrooge had fallen. Belle really was his last chance for a normal life and thouegh some critics compalined it was to mellow dramatic, i think that was point. Losing Belle i think it was fainallyh sealed Scrooges fate.
whos with me.

i told you not to stop the boat. Now lets go. Apocaylpse Now

The song was cut for theatrical release, so it doesn't really bother me that it's not included on the blu-ray......I actually had to just look it up as I had never seen the scene before.

I can see where the producers would have been concerned about being too melodramatic and perhaps feeling out-of-place in regards to tone and pacing......from just quickly watching the scene on youtube, I can't say I have a strong feeling one way or the other.

Cutting the song greatly takes away from the story. Not that it makes it right, but it helps explain how Scrooge putting business before everything else has become or is becoming cold hearted. He had compassion for Belle, but his wanting to postpone the wedding, was his undoing. In a sense, his lack of compassion for his fellow man, to me anyhow was his response back since he felt like he had no room for compassion since he was hurt.

I remember this song in the original theatrical release. I also had the VHS when I was a kid and the song was still there. I noticed the song was missing when they played the movie on tv last year and I thought it was just a tv edit. When the historic movie theater in my town played the movie last year and the song was missing... I was really confused! I still cannot for the life of me figure out why they took the song out!

I know some people think it shows things down, but without it it seems so awkward that Belle just gets up and leaves without negligence it clear she's having up with him. Then later the party on the line we found doesn't work.
