In my opinion, I thought this movie was better than Scrooge (1970). I found The Muppet Christmas Carol way more enjoyable. I thought Michael Caine was way better as Scrooge and I even thought the music was better in The Muppet Christmas Carol. I know The Muppet Christmas Carol had the Muppets, but they worked them in so perfectly. I saw the musical Scrooge twice. I didn't like it. I couldn't get into it. I remember every song from The Muppet Christmas Carol. I only remember one from Scrooge and not even the one I remembered was that good. They did a fantastic job with this movie and it was better than Scrooge in every way, in my opinion.

I love this movie. I've never seen Scrooge, so I can't compare the two, but I totally agree about the music of the Muppet Christmas Carol. Every song is catchy, memorable, and full of feeling. Michael Caine is the perfect Ebenezer Scrooge. I think the fact that it is a fantastical tale in the first place lends itself to incorporating the Muppets, and it's done very well. This is absolutely a must-watch during the holidays.

i think it's the best version of A christmas carol, and the one that is closest to the original.
