reply

seriousl. who id play him? I'm writting a reasearch paper on the arenoleukdistrophy and how the movie portrayed the disease, however, I cannot properly explain how it was portrayed without knowing more about the actor?

reply

actually, if you pay attention in the credits, it says that Lorenzo was played by six different boys.

reply

the little kid was zack o'malley greenburg, i dont know who the older one was. he hasnt been in anything else though.

reply

Tommy from Rugrats

reply

E.G. (Elizabeth) Daily is a voice actor and I believe she was Lorenzo's voice whenever you heard him screaming or crying in the film. She is the same person who plays the voice of Tommy in "Rugrats."

reply

are you ******* serious? I was just trying to make a joke out of that one because I thought he sounded like Tommy. I can't believe it was actually the voice of Tommy O_O

reply

Yeah actually it was.

When you hear him screaming from choking from his saliva, it sounds like Tommy. They did a voice over or something...

reply

did any of the actors actually have the disease, because the kid's hand in some scenes looks so decayed it would have been hard to just have that kind of hand. Maybe the hand was fake.

reply

I kind of doubt any of them actually had it.

Is everyone watching this in school?
Geez...my teacher's out due to pregnancy and we're watching it now.

Garrett Hedlund laughing makes my day.

reply

Yea, we watched it in school. I didn't like it that much.Especially Nick Nolte. He was terrible

reply

our school classes had to watch it in our 9th grade....at that time, the kid that played lorenzo in the movie was in 11th grade at my highschool. the kid does actually have disorders and is in a wheelchair to this day - his disorder is different then the disorder in the movie however (of which, i forget).

im twenty so he'd be around 22-23 years old by now. im not sure *which* lorenzo he played in the movie, i think he was the main one. but it has been years since i've seen the movie, so i don't know if there is a 'main' one. i know he was the one that was in the bed having the seizure...shaking and bouncing in the bed.....because he told me the story behind it and how he was shaking and bouncing like that. he was the kid i went to school with.

im talking about michael haider by the way.

Monsterman: I beg to differ. I think this was one of Nick Nolte's better performances. Not to mention, his Italian is stunning (which I had no idea he spoke such fluent Italian).

reply

by the wayyy...

i live a few streets away from the house the filmed it in.

reply

we were watching it in my anatomy class, we are studying the nervous system and the movie was pretty much one of the diseases we are learning about

yep we just watched it today and yesterday. its an awesome movie but it's so sad!! i'm glad lorenzo didn't die at the end. in fact he's now 28 and still living, although his mother died from lung cancer in 2000. he's pretty much a vege

reply

I think the boys who played Lorenzo when he was older actually had some sort of paralyzing disease. No healthy child is that emaciated.

reply

wow! how can six boys all look the same? interesting.

reply

Yeah were doing genetic disorders and stuff like that in bio and we just finished this today. It was pretty good, but I always hate when I have to watch a movie only 45 minutes at a time.
