I wanna know now!
So, did Lorenzo ever got better or something in the movie or is he just getting worse? What is it?
"Do you follow me?"
"Yes!"
"Well stop following me or I'll have you arrested!"

Assuming you didn't watch the end of the movie, he's now able to make some noises, he's regained his sight, and can move his head. But Michaela (the mom) did die. You can search google for "Lorenzo's Oil" and there's a website that tells you all about him.
shareCool! Thanks a lot! What a darn shame that the mom dies. *sniffs*

The mom doesn't die in the movie, but she died in 2000 of Leukemia.
shareI know she doesn't die in the movie. it's obvious that the movie was based in the 80s. I'm just saying that it's a shame that the mom died 6 years ago.

Michaela passed away from a form of lung cancer which is not related to smoking - and it was actually exacerbated by the stress of providing constant care and attention to her son.
sharelorenzo i think is actually now in a vegetative state
"Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot."
No, not quite in a vegetative state, he can move a little, He can blink and move his fingers. And I also believe he's regaining his eyesight.
shareOur bio teacher told us that he can't see, hear or talk, so maybe he did contract the adult version of ALD after all.
shareHe can hear, he listens to music and when people read to him.
