Where Are Lorenzo And His Family Now

can you give me some links about how they are and how things are going with them?

Perhaps, you can find inhttp:// en.wikipedia. Was this true story popular in US? Or Is it probably just a story they seized from Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul?

i looked it up on wikipedia and found out that lorenzo is still alive- in a couple months he'll be 29 years old. his father and omauri and a couple nurses are still caring for him, although his mother died in 2000. the only way he can communicate now is by moving his fingers and blinking his eyes. its so sad, i was hoping he might have had some more improvement by now, but his treatment was started way too late in the progression of the disease.

Just to add - almost 20 years passed since the day (12/8/86) the cure was realized, but, many in medicine finally still argue over whether the oil has more than temporary or limited therapeutic value:

here is a British web site that mentions the trial that Dr. Rizzo (mentioned in the movie) was to start in the late 1980's:

truly, the Odone's work saved many lives from a terrible suffering and a difficult death, but, many still prefer to think that it is not a cure or at least a viable treatment...

Now I don't want to question the all knowing wikipedia, or your 10 minutes of research, but I'm pretty sure that it states specifically in the movie that not only could he move his head by 1992, but that when introduced early enough, Lorenzo's Oil definitively stops the disease completely.

They were on the news last year (british news). they were doing a story on the disease and they visted his family in america. yeh lorenzo is now a grown man, i think at the time he was 29 and his parents were very old. his dad was showing the news reporter all of his charts that he still keeps and thats about it really... they're still as dedicated as they were b4. its so sweet :*)
