Susan Sarandon's performance.

I personally think that this performance defines Susan Sarandon as one of the greatest actresses alive. Though she is always good in her roles she was absolutely riveting in this performance. The scene Michaela is holding Lorenzo in the hospital telling him "If you need to go, you fly to baby Jesus as fast as you can" was so heartbreaking. I have always been a fan and I always think she is great but there was just something about this performance that has left me thinking about it for days after viewing the film.

Ignore the haters. I am so with you. I thought she was absolutely amazing, so full of pain and love for her son. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I though she deserved an Oscar for this performance more than any other.

You've got to be kidding me! She had the same facial expression the whole freaking movie! And nick nolte? He *beep* whispered the whole time. Susan looked like she didn't two craps about the boy. Horrribbllee actress in this movie.

reply

totally. she was so bad that she was nominated for an oscar....are you serious? she's amazing!

reply

We are not haters! This acting by Susan was completely unwatchable! It was that bad. There are times I thought she did an okay job, but NOOOOO she sucked so bad in this movie it was embarrassing.

I watched this movie in Biology in school, and honestly, I don't see why people bash Susan & Nick so much. Maybe their performances weren't the greatest in the history of filmmaking, but I thought they were believable and both did a great job.

For all the picky people here, what is your idea of the perfect performance?

Susan Saradon's performance in 'Lorenzo's Oil' is without any doubt one of her finest performances ever. It ranks up there with her performances in 'Dead Man Walking' or/and 'Atlantic City'.
Susan never fails to deliver a good performance, it's always a pleasure to watch her on the screen.
Hats off!

Hey romefan123,

Clearly, you are entranced by Susan Sarandon's performance enough to comment about how real it is to you.
However, I believe you have never met the real Susan Sarandon face to face or ever spoken to her in real life.

Perhaps you may see the difference between Michaela Odone the character and Susan Sarandon the actress if you actually met Susan Sarandon.

Stay safe.

She bores me. She plays virtually the same character in each of her movies.

So does almost everybody who's in movies.
