Angelo's Wife

Possible Spoilers ahead, and I don't mean over-modified Japanese Import cars.

I bought the Director's Cut of The Lawnmower Man the other day and watched it last night, having only seen the awful, shorter cut. A few scenes I didn't recall seeing where the scene with Jobe and the Genius Cyber monkey, and a scene where Angelo's wife is violently shot dead by agents from The Shop, which I noticed nobody seemed to be all that bothered about afterwards. You'd think if Jobe tied you up and made you watch your wife die you'd be a little bit pissed off or disorientated, and perhaps a tad pissed off and indifferent to say the least about Jobe's welfare.
Does anyone have any thoughts on these scenes? Or more importantly, Did these scenes actually happen or was I so stoned watching it that I in fact imagined the whole thing?
