Which ending did you prefer

Did you like the original ending with the 3 just standing there after Russell means prayer . Or did you prefer the directors cut where means has one last speech and he ends it with ," but once we were here."

I prefer the theatrical version, with the last line being, "I, Chingachgook, last of the Mohicans". It's to the point and powerful. The extended speech ruins the sadness of the previous 10 minutes.

I preferred the directors cut. the speech at the end summarized how the future would be. I thought it was very moving.

Both work really well, Mann ultimately was in a tough spot.

The Director's ending is more conclusive and explains things better but it ruins the momentum of the climax. The T Cut meanwhile is really too brief and hurts the end because it didn't explain enough.. he couldn't win for losing honestly.
