Magua and Uncas
Do you think Magua was just a better fighter or that he won because of the two-weapon dagger advantage?

I don't think it was a matter of weapon's style as much as exhaustion. Uncas had just run around a mountain in order to get to the other side of the pass before Magua and his men got there. Then he fought his way through several opponents before engaging Magua who was fresh.
That makes sense

Another sensible post from you, sparker21. Informed & common sense. Thanks.
shareUncas should have waited for his father and brother before running after alice. Magua was a tough bastard though. Uncas was good too. I think they had a pretty fair fight and Magua just got the better of it that time. If they faught 10 times they might go 5 and 5. Luck, timing, errors...speed, a lot of things come into play in a fight to the death, any one of them can kill you. Perhaps in an open battle field Uncas could have done better, that rock was terrible plave to fight, but chinkochook had no problem whipping Magua there lol
shareIt was a fair fight by two Ogichidaa (don't know how to say it in Huron). Magua was fresh, Uncas was tired a bit but not winded. Magua was uncaring, Uncas was distracted by love.
On even ground, Magua would still have won. Magua had no feeling, Uncas cared. The unfeeling always beats the caring on even ground. Hate is useful, but lack of emotion will always win.
