Madeleine Stowe is wonderful and so beautiful in this film, i really like the way she looks when DDLewis tells her he's looking at her...great looking scene (and the cinematography is stunning)
The best scene in the film is with Jodhi May, the fall at the end and the face to face with Wes Studi just before...AWESOME!!

I agree - she was a stunning beauty. Played the perfect english rose. The Accent was spot on. Perfect femininity. Half the film set must have fell in love with her.

English rose? She was the daughter of a Scottish Officer serving the British Crown.

her accent was 100% english gentry. Even if her father was scottish ..the accent suggested she was bought up in upper class england somewhere. Perhaps london before she ended up in the new world.
