Stupid ending

Q would be going to jail for life.

reply

Nawh he had Steel to back him up, plus everyone in that building was a witness to it being self defence.

reply

Exactly.

In order for his whole story to make sense they will have to confess to accessory to murder (killing the shop cashier) and armed robbery.

Meaning they will have to plead guilty on both counts unless they get the best lawyer ever (they won't) and their prosecutor has the IQ of a brick.

These offenses lead to many years in prison - maybe not life, but their lives are ruined and no one will want to hire them for anything once they are out of prison. Assuming they survive prison without joining a gang and bringing the recidivism rate up.

They can just say that they went to the bodega and that Bishop randomly took out his gun and shot the clerk. Such a story would hold weight considering Bishop shot four people killing three. Plus the fact that he recklessly shot his gun in a crowded elevator shows that he was capable of randomly shooting the clerk.

At that point their main concern would be to solve the mystery of multiple serial killings. There is no proof that the others had procession of the gun besides Bishop.

reply

That would be plausible IF their stories are perfectly compatible (they won't be interrogated together) and the friend in the hospital was already spilling his guts. Not to mention, the clerk wasn't randomly shot - he was executed facing the wall, I believe. Plus the boys didn't go to the police to begin with and sorry to say, "I ain't no snitch" isn't a defense that holds up in court. Aiding and abedding, accessory, whatever. It's not good when it's connected to murder and robbery. The cops would know the money was taken.

A rookie detective would be able to identify the holes and contradictions in their story upon interrogation, leaving them with no credibility in taking the stand in court, meaning prison is all that lies in their futures.

reply

Ya after watching the movie again it dawned on me how screwed Steel and Q are.

It wouldn't take long for them to be connected to the robbery from there they have at least one murder charge, but could also be charged in connection to Raheem. In most cases if a death occurs during a robbery then all responsible could be convicted of said death. So ya you won't be seeing Q or Steel for a LONG Time.

reply

It's been 23 years, so Q and Steel are probably out by now.

reply

Maybe. Unless they died in prison or joined a gang and are now right back in prison after selling some shyt.

reply

They both can say that Raheem and bishop both made them help out during the robbery.

Spoiler alert for them spoil sports out there! Y'all like spoiled milk, stop crying over it!

reply

Too late, the one friend was spilling his guts at the hospital. Like I said before, it's highly doubtful they'd have the same story and they'd have no credibility afterwards trying to get their story straight.

reply

They can simply deny being involved. There is no physical evidence to connect them to the robbery. And quincy has the aliby of being at The Ruffhouse.

There's physical evidence and witnesses that show Q had beef suddenly with a good friend. He'll be questioned and grilled as to why. He will deny the store robbery and accessory to murder. His other friend will take the stand after being offered a deal to testify what countless witnesses already heard him say at the hospital. Q is fvcked.

reply

Fat guy doesnt need to even mention the robbery.
Or say anything. No deal is needed. They keep their mouth shut and theres no evidence to connect them to the robbery. Police can grill you all they want, you dont have to answer their questions. With out physical evidence or witnesses to the robbery. All they have to do is keep their mouth shut.

I think the ending could have been a little better too. Then again I like how both Bishop and Omar Epps character was battling it out on the roof.

Teenagers always talk in serious cases. Always!!!

I don't know why. But whether it's a carjacking, a gunpoint robbery, an attempted murder, etc., 99.9% of them are going to make a statement. Even if the statement is the only connection between them and the crime.

I don't get it, but it's true.
