Lance Henriksen
Anybody else think this was a great Lance Henriksen performance? I've been following him for awhile, and he truly shined in this film.

shareTrue, but he shines in just about every film he does. There isn't a film he hasn't helped just by showing up.
sharesolid. elevates the realism
shareA guy I have followed for years.Never mailed it in...he is a fine Western villain too.
shareHave you watched him in “Pumpkinhead” and “Stone Cold”? I thought they were good movies for its decade.
shareI like Lance as well, and looking back at his role in this film has brought me to the belief that he would have been a much better choice for Michael Mann's "Heat" as Vincent Hannah, instead of Al Pacino. I think that movie suffered from the over-bloated sense of its two leading actors instead of the strength from the story which could have been fleshed out more. Pacino's performance screamed NYC method actor from the first scene on in contrast to DeNiro, who at least played his role with subtle nuance if not totally straight. Lance could have brought a different performance as his face and eyes say more with one look than Pacino can with his stylized language and overreaching gesticulation.

In the vain of a old western, I'll deal with you later on your take over dear old Al in Heat but for now let me add my two-bits about Lance. I loved his performance in Powder. I cry or hold back the tears when Lance stands in the field at the end of the film in total awe! His body language the tears in the well of his eyes...I rewind that everytime..Lance's role ar always that of a tough guy with a humane soul. Despite his exterior, he always remain anchored in a strange sense of peace...and when he goes crazy, I love that too.
I refuse to watch him on television..heck I refues to watch television period.
Making A Living Seeing

I am impressed with his performance every time I see it. Sadly, I keep confusing him with Christopher Walken, and NEVER can remember his name (or Christopher's for that matter).
shareLance Henriksen was certainly my main attraction to this film – as is the case with most of his movies. And as with so many of his films, his character gets written off before the end.
Otherwise, this is a pretty by-the-books thriller in my book. 5/10 stars for "Jennifer Eight."
Two words; Frank Black.
share100% agree! One of my favorites Lance Henriksen's performance!
Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
