I don't think it was mentioned in the movie and believe I asked this a year a so ago but don't recall if anyone had a real answer. So does anyone know why she was always limping?

Katherine Jackson suffered from Polio as a child and one of the results was the limp. Michael talked about it in his book "Moonwalk" and said it was so important in their household that they get the polio innoculation that The Jackson 5 missed rehearsal/a show in order to go get it.
